High quality assurance employees at ZeniMax Studios went on strike earlier this week in protest of the corporate’s lack of distant work choices.
The Communication Employees of America (CWA) mentioned that this was resulting from a scarcity of progress when it got here to negotiations between the union and Microsoft on a couple of key topics; lack of distant work choices and ZeniMax changing QA employees with contractors. This follows the CWA submitting an unfair labour apply in opposition to the corporate.
“What we need to get out of that is job safety. Now we have members who would not have the ability to return to the workplace in the event that they have been pressured to and must stop even in a hybrid mannequin,” senior QA tester and union member Dylan Burton mentioned.
“Now we have enormous considerations about the way in which the corporate is utilising outsourcing and the way that will impression the security of our jobs over time. Our employer wants to fulfill us on these points, and that’s what we hope comes out of this strike.”
Senior QA tester and ZeniMax Employees United member Juniper Dowell added: “Hopefully between the ULP and this strike we will persuade Microsoft to cease dragging their ft and meet us on the desk over our cheap calls for.”
