A 31-year treasure hunt has lastly ended

31 years, 5 months, and 9 days after it started, a hunt for a golden owl has lastly ended (through Gizmodo). Following a path of clues left by creator and puzzle designer RĂ©gis Hauser in his guide On the Path of the Golden Owl, printed in 1993, the profitable scavenger unearthed a bronze duplicate of the owl on October 3. The duplicate might be exchanged for the actual prize, a 10-kilogram statue product of gold and silver adorned with diamonds that’s value roughly $US165,000.

Although Hauser died in 2009, the guide’s illustrator Michel Becker grew to become the treasure hunt’s caretaker and lately opened a Discord server that breathed new life into the search, making it simpler for hunters to collaborate.
