Sonic the Hedgehog’s third film outing is now in cinemas and whereas there are some new faces on this newest live-action entry like Shadow, a number of different fan favourites have missed out (once more).
This consists of (spoiler alert) Massive the Cat and Rouge the Bat. Based on the writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller, there was a cameo deliberate for Massive within the second film – the place he was going to indicate up in skeleton kind on the snowy mountains as a reference to Indiana Jones, however it was slightly too grim.
Pat Casey: “Indiana Jones, it is a trope that in some unspecified time in the future a skeleton pops out at you and scares you. So we had been going to do this, however with a skeleton of a, I might say, a Massive the Cat, not necessarily- [Big the Cat]”
As for Rouge, the duo has apparently been “unsuccessful” to find a strategy to incorporate her for 3 movies straight. Happily, not all hope is misplaced – with a fourth film reportedly confirmed to be on the way in which! It’s going to apparently be aiming for a Spring 2027 launch – so it is nonetheless some time away.
